On Tuesday, September 12, Apple announced the much-anticipated iPhone 15 series during its 'Wonderlust' event. As new models are launched, the Cupertino-based tech giant has a history of phasing out older goods from its catalog. This year, too, Apple discontinued certain previous iPhone models in India shortly following the launch of the new range to make room for the latest iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

The discontinued models include the iPhone 12, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max. Last year's high-end model, the iPhone 14 Pro Max, had a starting price of Rs. 1,39,900. The phone is no longer available on Apple's India website. The discontinuation of the iPhone 14 Pro Max would pave the way for the forthcoming iPhone 15 Pro Max. Similarly, the iPhone 14 Pro is no longer available in India. The device was launched last year at the 'Far Out' event, with an original price tag of Rs. 1,29,900 for the 128GB storage capacity. Meanwhile, the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus are still available in India at discounted pricing.

Apple has also discontinued the iPhone 13 small (Review) in order to create place for the forthcoming iPhone 15 variants. With a starting price of Rs. 69,900 for the 128GB storage variant, the iPhone 13 mini was the lowest model in the company's 2021 iPhone series. It first appeared as an option for those searching for a tiny flagship iPhone. It has many similarities to the iPhone 13, but with a smaller display. The vanilla model, on the other hand, is presently available on Apple's India website.

With the removal of the iPhone 13 mini, the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 14, iPhone 13, and iPhone SE (2022) will be the company's smaller-sized phones.

Apple silently removed the iPhone 12 from its portfolio as well. The first model in the lineup was released in 2020, with a starting price of Rs. 59,900 for the base 128GB storage.

Apple will no longer sell the iPhone 12, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max. However, these devices are still available via third-party shops and e-commerce sites such as Amazon and Flipkart. They should also be accessible in physical stores until supplies run out.

The iPhone 15 starts at Rs. 79,900 in India, while the iPhone 15 Plus starts at Rs. 89,900. Meanwhile, the iPhone 15 Pro costs Rs. 1,34,900, while the iPhone 15 Pro Max costs Rs. 1,59,900. They are presently available for pre-order in India, with sales beginning on September 22.
