The OnePlus Open, powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, was unveiled on Thursday (October 19) as the company's first foldable smartphone. OnePlus is now preparing to showcase a new smartphone screen. On October 24, OnePlus and its BBK electronics subsidiary Oppo will collaborate with BOE to unveil a new display. The forthcoming panel will have a resolution of 1,440 pixels and a brightness of 3,000 nits. The OnePlus Open has a peak brightness of up to 2,800 nits.


OnePlus stated on Weibo on Friday that it would introduce a new display in collaboration with BOE on October 24. The "Sunrise East" debut ceremony will take held in Chongqing, China. The teaser picture hints that OnePlus' sibling company, Oppo, would be involved in the unveiling. "Sunrise East!" says the post. We have progressed from trailing behind to catching up to exceeding in 30 years. On October 24, OnePlus will collaborate with BOE to bring you a historic moment for Chinese displays!"


OnePlus has not disclosed any information regarding the future display. However, a well-known leaker, Digital Chat Station (translated from Chinese), reports that the new screen would feature a 2K resolution and 3,000 nits of brightness. According to reports, the forthcoming display would feature 2160Hz pulse width modulation (PWM) dimming and single pulse DC. The OnePlus 12 will most likely employ the BOE display.


The inner and exterior displays of the new OnePlus Open have a peak brightness of 2,800 nits. The foldable phone ships with OxygenOS 13.2 based on Android 13 and a 7.82-inch (2,268x2,440 pixels) 2K Flexi-fluid LTPO 3.0 AMOLED display. The display is protected by Ultra Thin Glass and may be dimmed at 1,440Hz using pulse-width modulation (PWM). The display is a 6.31-inch (1,116x2,484-pixel) 2K LTPO 3.0 Super Fluid AMOLED cover display.


OnePlus has outfitted the Open foldable phone with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC with an Adreno 740 GPU and 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM. According to the business, accessible memory on the smartphone may be increased in 4GB, 8GB, and 12GB increments by using underutilized storage on the handset.


The OnePlus Open's optics include a Hasselblad-branded triple camera array that includes a 48-megapixel main camera, a 64-megapixel telephoto camera, and a 48-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera. On the outside of the screen, there is a 20-megapixel primary selfie camera and a 32-megapixel secondary camera. The OnePlus Open comes with 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage and a dual-cell 4,800mAh battery with 67W SuperVOOC charging.


In India, the OnePlus Open costs Rs. 1,39,999 for a single 16GB + 512GB RAM and storage combination.
