Xiaomi has announced that it would retire MIUI and replace it with the new HyperOS with the next Xiaomi 14 series of phones. More information regarding the new operating system is likely to be released once the Xiaomi 14 range is released. The range is expected to be introduced later this year, succeeding the Xiaomi 13 series of phones, which debuted in December 2022. The current MIUI skin, which is used on all Xiaomi phones and tablets, has been in use for about 13 years.

Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun stated in a post on X that the company's new operating system, Xiaomi HyperOS, will debut with the next Xiaomi 14 series. He didn't provide any additional specifics regarding the new OS or tease its appearance. As the release date approaches, we should hear more about it.
According to a recent source, MIUI 14 will be the "last official major version" of MIUI. This is now clear. Xiaomi was also said to have registered a "mios.cn" domain as well as the MiOS trademark earlier this year. However, it appears that Xiaomi will rename its operating system HyperOS rather than MiOS.
Meanwhile, the full list of features for the Xiaomi 14 model was recently leaked, indicating that the phone would most likely arrive with a new operating system. The next device will reportedly include a 6.44-inch Huaxing C8 OLED display with a resolution of 1.5K, a refresh rate of 120Hz, a peak brightness level of 2,800 nits, and Dolby Vision compatibility. It is rumored to be powered by an undisclosed Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, together with LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.0 storage.
The Xiaomi 14 series, like the Xiaomi 13 devices, is expected to include Leica-branded cameras. It is expected to include a 50-megapixel OV50H main camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS), a second 50-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens, and another 50-megapixel sensor with a telephoto lens in its triple rear camera unit. According to sources, the basic model might include a 4,600mAh battery with 90W wired, 50W wireless, and 10W reverse wireless charging.
