The release date for the thinner and lighter mid-gen PS5 update has been leaked online, along with information on its initial package. According to Billbil-kun, a trustworthy leaker known for accurately releasing monthly PS Plus titles ahead of schedule, the new PlayStation consoles with smaller form factors will be on sale November 10 in the United States before spreading to other areas; both disc and digital versions will be available. On November 8, Sony will combine it with the recently released Marvel's Spider-Man 2 for $559.99, the same price as the previous standard edition combo. While not expressly stated, the content should be the same, including a digital game ticket and a customized controller.

According to Billbil-kun's report, the Spider-Man 2 bundle will only include the disc version of the PS5 slim 'without dedicated design,' which is most likely referring to the special edition red-and-black PS5 that appears to be consumed by Venom's black symbiote. However, it's unclear if he means the removable disc drive or the full console side plate. Sony revealed the new PS5 Slim last week, which is said to be 30% smaller than the standard PlayStation 5, as well as 18 to 24% lighter depending on the model. It will be released next month, with a glossy top half and a matte bottom split by a black stripe. It will be offered in two editions, much like the original: digital edition and one with a detachable Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive.

The drive also comes with a white plastic cover that easily slots on and protects it from dust and debris. The PS5 thin disc edition, like the original, costs $499.99 (about Rs. 41,555). The PS5 slim Digital Edition costs $449.99 (about Rs. 37,400), up from $399, albeit the Blu-ray drive can be purchased separately and simply inserted. The drive is available separately for $79.99 (about Rs. 6,650). In terms of computing power and graphics, both consoles remain the same, although there is a modest change to the internal storage, which jumps from an 825GB SSD to a 1TB SSD. It's worth noting that after Sony has sold out of its launch edition PS5s, this new smaller type will be the only one available for purchase.

According to the source, multiple Japanese vendors, including the regional Amazon site, have begun pre-orders/ reservations for the PS5 slim, with the November 10 release date. Sony has sold 40 million PS5 devices globally as of July, with the corporation reportedly expected to surpass that figure with renewed console sales. In India, the normal PS5 disk edition costs Rs. 54,990, while the Digital Edition costs Rs. 44,990. Both versions are now widely accessible in both online and physical places. In reality, it appears that its sales are behind in the country, which would explain the recent regular reductions. Later this year, Sony intends to release the PlayStation Portal portable gaming gadget, which will allow users to easily stream their games from their console to the smaller screen via Wi-Fi.
