The OnePlus Open, the company's first foldable phone, will launch with select third-party apps out of the box on October 19. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer has announced that its future device would include a few non-OnePlus apps that will be pre-installed by the company. Bloatware refers to third-party software installed by manufacturers and is common on Android handsets. OnePlus is yet to release a list of third-party applications that will be pre-installed on the OnePlus Open.

A OnePlus representative confirmed that the OnePlus Open will launch with third-party applications out of the box in a prepared statement emailed to Gadgets 360 on Tuesday. "OnePlus prioritizes a quick, smooth, and trouble-free customer experience above all else." "We've worked closely with a variety of mainstream app developers to ensure their apps are compatible with our new foldable design, enhancing the user experience," added the spokesman.

OnePlus claims that Facebook, a popular mobile app in its target countries, will be one of the applications installed on the future OnePlus Open. Following public outcry, OnePlus announced in 2020 that its smartphones will no longer come pre-installed with Facebook applications, beginning with the OnePlus 8T.

According to the smartphone manufacturer, the OnePlus Open will come with "a small number" of preloaded programs in order to deliver the greatest user experience. Aside from the Facebook app, OnePlus hasn't given a list of third-party applications optimized for the OnePlus Open smartphone.

It is presently unknown if customers will be able to disable or delete the Facebook app or any of the other third-party apps that OnePlus will pre-install on the future OnePlus Open. The business hasn't said if these particularly optimized apps would receive the same upgrades as other cellphones that installed the identical apps via the Google Play store.

According to McAfee, pre-installed applications from third-party developers might also compromise your device's security. They can also annoy consumers with unnecessary messages and alerts from these programs. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5, which will compete with the OnePlus Open, will also come pre-installed with applications like Netflix, Spotify, and Facebook.

"We believe this approach strikes the right balance between delivering a novel and seamless user experience while preserving the stability and security of our products," a representative for the business said in a statement.
