Instagram has announced new features such as multiple lists in Stories, audio and selfie video notes, and more

On October 6, Instagram celebrated its one anniversary. As the firm expands, the Meta-owned app has added additional features to appeal to Generation Z. Instagram will begin testing the new features shortly, with the possibility of launching them in the following months. Birthday reminders, voice notes, video notes via selfies, and numerous lists for Stories are among the new creative features. According to the corporation, these capabilities will make it easier for the younger generation to express their creativity on the app and exchange material.

The firm introduced new Instagram features aimed exclusively toward GenZ during a Meta event in Delhi.

 

Four New Instagram Features for GenZ Users

Birthday's is the first feature. Instagram users may already celebrate their loved ones' birthdays. The app's new function will also allow users to assist their friends in remembering their birthdays. They can accomplish this by adding fresh images or effects to their profile photo, such as confetti.

Instagram has also made it easier for users to write remarks. It might be a spoken message or a selfie video note. Notes have grown in popularity on the app, allowing users to quickly exchange updates with one another. It is visible in the DM area at the top of the messages. The new Audio Notes feature allows users to save a voice recording as a note for 24 hours, while Selfie Video Notes allows users to save a short video as a note for 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the app touts Multiple Lists in Stories as the most anticipated feature. Users could previously build a list of Close Friends from whom they wished to pick Stories. Users may now create numerous lists in Stories, such as one for university mates, another for office companions, and so on. Making numerous lists allows users to limit the number of individuals who may access a specific article.
