According to reports, the business will make the Apple TV app the sole option to rent and buy movies on the platform, phase out its own applications that provide the same functions on the device.

According to Bloomberg, Apple is overhauling its Apple TV app with a new left-aligned side panel that will allow users to select from a variety of categories. This will bring the Apple TV app's look in line with other applications from Netflix, Amazon's Prime Video, and other streaming services that utilize the same style for accessing various TV program and movie categories.

Aside from the revamped interface, Apple is apparently focused on improving the process of renting or purchasing content on the site. Users may currently purchase or rent TV series and movies on Apple TV by launching the Apple TV app or the iTunes applications for both types of content. Apple will delete these iTunes apps as part of the new experience.
