WhatsApp users may soon be able to access two accounts from a single phone. According to reports, the app has been spotted testing the multi-account capability for Android phones. Typically, the social media site will also release an iOS version of the feature at the same time. WhatsApp has been introducing additional capabilities to its user base, most notably HD photo and video sharing. Furthermore, the app is allegedly developing a new Android layout with a bottom navigation bar identical to its iOS version.
According to a WABetaInfo report, more Android beta users are now receiving access to WhatsApp's multi-account capability. This is presently accessible to WhatsApp beta users using Android 2.23.18.21 and is apparently being handed out to more beta users. This beta release has a redesigned user interface for the app settings.
WhatsApp originally tested the multi-account feature in June of this year. Users may use this capability to operate several WhatsApp accounts on a single device. As a result, users will be able to access a second WhatsApp account on the same device via the WhatsApp settings.
The software will most likely be upgraded to a stable version with the multi-account capability in the following weeks. This capability may be beneficial for persons who have various numbers for different countries or regions, or for people who have several connections, such as for business and personal use.
For the time being, users must have the most recent beta version of WhatsApp for Android and a compatible Android handset to access the multi-account capability. After activating the functionality, customers may create a new account by selecting the Add Account option in the settings menu. Following that, users may input the phone number for the new account and follow the directions. This new account remains active on the device until they log out.
Each WhatsApp account will have its own set of preferences, conversation history, and alerts. Users can switch between accounts by clicking the account switcher option in the settings menu.
