The Samsung W Series will be released on September 15; the Samsung W24 and Samsung W24 Flip are expected

Samsung's W series launch conference will be held in China on September 15, the Suwon-based business stated on Friday (September 1). While Samsung has just stated the W series, we can anticipate it to contain the Samsung W24 and Samsung W24 Flip, which will be the successors to the Samsung W23 and W23 Flip, respectively. The forthcoming devices are expected to be customized versions of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5. The design of the Chinese variations may be relatively similar to the devices sold in India, with minor hardware-level tweaks.

The Samsung W series launch conference is slated for September 15th. According to a teaser poster provided (in Chinese) by the firm on Weibo, the debut ceremony will take place in China at the Chengdu High and New Sports Center.

The Samsung W24 and Samsung W24 Flip are likely to debut as rebranded versions of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5, respectively, at the event. They will be offered only in China, unlike last year's Samsung W23 and W23 Flip, and will not be accessible abroad. The Chinese variations of the foldable often have better specs than their worldwide counterparts and a modified design that features a China-specific theme.

The Samsung W23 series debuted in October of last year. The standard model costs CNY 15,999 (about Rs. 1,82,300) for a single 16GB RAM + 512GB storage option. The Samsung W23 Flip 5G, on the other hand, was priced at CNY 9,999 (about Rs. 1,13,900) for the single 12GB RAM + 512GB storage variant.

Last week, Samsung revealed the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 at the Galaxy Unpacked event, alongside the Galaxy Tab S9 series and the Galaxy Watch 6 range. The worldwide versions of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 sport Armor Aluminum frames and run Android 13 with One UI 5.1.1 on top. Both variants are powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform designed specifically for Galaxy SoCs. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 features 12GB of RAM, whilst the Galaxy Z Flip 5 has 8GB. These foldable phones have an IPX8 water resistant grade.

The battery in the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is 4,400mAh and supports 25W wired fast charging. The Galaxy Z Flip 5 is powered with a 3,700mAh battery that supports 25W rapid charging.

The Galaxy Z Fold 5 starts at Rs. 1,54,999 for the basic 12GB RAM + 256GB storage configuration in India, while the Galaxy Z Flip 5 starts at Rs. 99,999 for the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant.
