In June of this year, Nokia brand licensee HMD Global launched the Nokia G42 5G in select countries. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 480+ SoC and has three back cameras, the primary of which is a 50-megapixel sensor. The Nokia G42 5G is presently available in So Grey and So Purple color variants on Amazon India.

The Nokia G42 5G was released in Europe in June, with a price of EUR 199 (about Rs. 20,800) for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage configuration.

According to Amazon teases, the Nokia G42 5G will run Android 13 and will receive two years of Android OS upgrades as well as monthly security patches for three years. The phone has a 6.56-inch HD+ (720 x 1,612 pixel) LCD display with a refresh rate of 90Hz. Under the hood is an octa-core Snapdragon 480+ SoC, combined with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The 5G device also includes up to 5GB of virtual RAM.
The Nokia G42 5G European edition sports a triple back camera array with a 50-megapixel primary sensor and two 2-megapixel sensors. There is also an 8-megapixel sensor for selfies and video chats. It has a 5,000mAh battery and supports 20W wired fast charging.
The Nokia G42 5G is verified to be built in India and has a rear cover comprised of 65 percent recycled materials.
