At the WWDC 2023 in June, Apple introduced iOS 17, iPadOS 17, macOS Sonoma, watchOS 10, and tvOS 17. At tonight's Apple Wonderlust event, the California-based tech company revealed the release dates for the newest operating systems (OS). One of the company's key releases, iOS 17, brings improved communication capabilities across Phone, FaceTime, and Messages. The new OS upgrade, however, will not be accessible for all iPhone models. iOS 17 features will be accessible to iPhone Xs and later as a free software upgrade.

Features of iOS 17 and iPadOS 17
Apple's forthcoming iOS 17 update will have customisable Contact Posters, allowing users to customize how a contact appears during an incoming call. Third-party calling applications will also be able to use them. Users will now be able to view a private real-time transcription of live Voicemail. Spam calls, on the other hand, will not display as live Voicemail.
Communication applications such Apple FaceTime and Messages have also received changes in iOS 17. FaceTime will now allow you to record and send messages if the receiver does not pick up the audio or video call. Additionally, customers may make a FaceTime call using Apple TV or switch it to the television.
Airdrop, NameDrop, autocorrect, dictation, privacy updates, AirPlay, Apple Music, and Safari browsing will all get substantial improvements. Apple will also release a new app Journal, which will make it easier for users to create a gratitude list.
Apple provides a revamped configurable Lock Screen and interactive widgets with iPadOS 17. Reading PDFs and Notes on your iPad will get simpler when they, too, gain new functionality. In addition, new interactive features for Messages, FaceTime, and Safari will be available, similar to iOS 17. Apple has also launched the Health app to the iPad, allowing users to keep track of their health data.
Features of macOS Sonoma, watchOS 10, and tvOS 17
Apple's upcoming macOS Sonoma software update for Mac computers will allow users to set widgets directly on the desktop and interact with them. Video conferencing will also receive additional capabilities. Safari has received substantial enhancements, including speedier surfing between multiple windows. Another significant addition is Game Mode, which provides players with an enhanced gaming experience. Beginning September 26, the update will be available for all compatible Mac machines.
Meanwhile, starting September 18, watchOS 10 will be available for Apple Watch Series 4 or later when linked with an iPhone Xs or later running iOS 17. It features revamped applications that improve navigation and content access. It will also have new widgets that may be neatly stacked in a Smart Stack and will be shown in the order determined by the user's behavior.
Furthermore, watchOS 10 allows users to access Control Center through a side button. With the newest software upgrade, there will also be two new watch faces.
Last but not least, tvOS 17 allows users to see FaceTime calls on Apple TV or make calls directly from the television. There will be more features and improvements to personalize the experience, such as improved conversation, Dolby Vision 8.1 compatibility, and third-party VPN support.
