The Google Pixel 8 series is likely to be launched on October 4 during the company's Made by Google event. More leaks regarding the next-generation Pixel phones are circulating online as we get closer to Google's yearly presentation. Recently, a rumor revealed the European price for the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, as well as their storage configurations and color possibilities. Previous rumors suggested that the Pixel 8 series will only be available in eSIM form. However, recent information indicates that Google will include real SIM card ports on the devices. The Pixel 8 Pro is also likely to have Night Sight video.
In partnership with TheTechOutlook, tipster Paras Guglani (@passionategeekz) disclosed the price, storage settings, and color possibilities for the incoming Pixel 8 series. According to the source, the Pixel 8 with 128GB storage would cost EUR 874.25 (approximately Rs. 78,400). The 256GB storage model is expected to cost EUR 949.30 (about Rs. 85,200). The vanilla model is believed to be available in hazel, mint, obsidian, and rose hues.
The Pixel 8 Pro, on the other hand, is expected to cost EUR 1,235.72 (about Rs. 1,10,900) for the 128GB storage variant, and EUR 1,309.95 (approximately Rs. 1,17,500) for the 256GB storage model. The high-end 512GB variant is expected to cost EUR 1,461.24 (about Rs. 1,31,100). It is believed to be available in bay, mint, obsidian, and porcelain colors.
All prices include the 23% VAT (value-added tax). The Pixel 8 might cost EUR 710.77 (approximately Rs. 63,000) for the base model and EUR 771.79 (about Rs. 69,000) for the top-end model, excluding VAT. The Pro model might be priced without VAT at EUR 1,004.65 (about Rs. 90,000), EUR 1,065 (approximately Rs. 95,000), and EUR 1,188 (approximately Rs. 1,06,600) for the 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB storage options, respectively.
Separately, according to a 9to5Google story quoting sources, the Pixel 8 series will retain the eSIM + traditional SIM slot from prior Pixel phones. This contradicts tipster Mishaal Rahman's (@MishaalRahman) recent results. The Pixel 8 variants, like the iPhone 14 series, were expected to forego traditional SIM card slots in favor of eSIM, at least in some markets.
Furthermore, the Pixel 8 Pro is expected to include Night Sight video capability. This feature would increase the quality of low-light video capturing. The quicker image signal processor (ISP) and AI capabilities of the Tensor G3 SoC might improve this feature.
The Pixel 8 series has lately been the subject of several leaks. Both phones are said to run Android 14 and have 120Hz refresh rate screens. They are likely to launch with a Tensor G3 processor, an advance over the Tensor G2 SoC. The Pixel 8 Pro is rumored to ship with a 4,950mAh battery that supports 27W wired fast charging. The Pixel 8 might, on the other hand, be powered by a 4,485mAh battery with 24W cable charging and 12W wireless charging capability.
