Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro Specs and Pricing Revealed Ahead of October 4 Launch

On October 4, Google will reveal the Pixel 8 series. The business appears to have verified the lineup, which includes the Pixel 8 as the standard model and the Pixel 8 Pro as the all-new Pro model this year. It will be introduced in October 2022 to replace the Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, which were released last year. Several leaks, rumours, and certification listings for the forthcoming devices have revealed critical details. The soon-to-be-released phones are also expected to provide significant improvements over previous generations. A few days before the formal debut, a tipster has detailed all of the probable smartphone characteristics and pricing.

In a post on X, tipster Kamila Wojciechowska (@Za_Raczke) detailed the Pixel 8 series' full features and estimated pricing points. According to the rumor, the Pixel 8 will be available in Obsidian, Hazel, and Rose color choices, while the Pixel 8 Pro will be available in Obsidian, Porcelain, and Bay. According to the article, the base model will cost $699 (about Rs. 51,800), while the pro model would cost $899 (approximately Rs. 74,800).

The standard Pixel 8 is said to have 6.17-inch OLED panels with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection and a full-HD+ resolution, while the pro variant is expected Google have a QHD resolution. The devices are believed to be powered by Tensor G3 SoCs and will be available in 8GB + 12GB and 128GB + 256GB RAM and storage configurations. The phones will come pre-installed with Android 14.

 The Pixel 8's dual rear camera unit will support a 50-megapixel primary sensor and a 12-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide lens, while the Pixel 8 Pro will include a 50-megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS), a 48-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide lens, and another 48-megapixel telephoto camera with 5x zoom. The phones will most likely include 10.5-megapixel front-facing cameras.

Google expects the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro to receive seven years of OS and security upgrades. Along with Magic Editor's face-swapping capability, the phones will most likely offer Real Tone, Night Sight, Astrophotography, and Super Res Zoom. Users will supposedly be able to capture films in low-light circumstances using the Video Boost and Light Sight capabilities. The phones will also include an Audio Eraser, which will assist reduce undesirable background noise in videos.

The Pixel 8 will most likely ship with a 4,485mAh battery that supports 24W wired and 12W wireless fast charging. The Pixel 8 Pro, on the other hand, is believed to include a 4,950mAh battery with 27W wired fast and 12W wireless charging capability.

Face unlock and fingerprint scanners are anticipated to be included in the devices for security. The standard model will probably weigh 187 grams, while the pro model will probably weigh 213 grams.
