The iPhone 15 series, which includes the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max, will be available in India and other countries on Friday (September 22). On the first day of worldwide sales, the Cupertino-based corporation made the India-built iPhone 15 models accessible in the nation and other parts of the world for the first time. Apple has already sent iPhones built in India after the intended launch date. The latest models might have been produced at Apple assembler Foxconn's Chennai facility. The next iPhone range was unveiled on September 12 at the "Wonderlust" event, and they were available for pre-order last Friday (September 15).

Apple began distributing the iPhone 15 series earlier today, and iPhones built in India are available to buyers in the nation on the first day of sale, alongside handsets made in China. Several consumers, like R Madhavan, went to X to post a photo of their India-made iPhone 15 model. The devices were reportedly made in Apple assembler Foxconn's Chennai facility.

Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology, described the event as a watershed moment for the country. "Indians can now get the latest products without having to wait." We anticipate that the iPhone 15 will be shipped from India to the rest of the world in the near future. "Congratulations, Apple Team," he stated on X.

Previously, Apple sold iPhone models made in India after the official launch date. Within 10 days of their global release in 2022, the iPhone 14 versions went on sale. In view of the geopolitical tensions between the United States and China, Apple's recent move is seen as a step toward diversifying production capacity in India.

Apple wants to make India a worldwide manufacturing powerhouse for its smartphones. According to reports, the corporation is currently producing 7% of its iPhone models in the nation. In April of this year, Apple's India retail outlets — the Apple BKC store in Mumbai and the Apple Saket store in Delhi — opened their doors to consumers.

Apple relies on Indian facilities to produce the standard iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models. According to a recent report, Apple will manufacture the iPhone 15 Plus domestically in the coming quarter at Foxconn's Chennai facility. The Foxconn facility in Chennai employs 40,000 employees. The iPhone assembly firm is also investing $600 million (about Rs. 4,975 crore) in two projects in Karnataka to manufacture iPhone case components and chip-making equipment. Other Apple suppliers, like as Pegatron and Wistron, are also anticipated to start producing the iPhone 15 soon.

Apple unveiled the iPhone 15 series last week at its 'Wonderlust' event. The newest handsets include a titanium construction and a USB Type-C connector. They are all pre-loaded with Dynamic Island and run iOS 17 out of the box. The A16 Bionic chip powers the iPhone 15 models, while the A17 Pro chip powers the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro.

In India, the standard model of the iPhone 15 costs Rs. 79,900, while the iPhone 15 Plus costs Rs. 89,900. The iPhone 15 Pro, on the other hand, starts at Rs. 1,39,900, while the iPhone 15 Pro Max starts at Rs. 1,59,900. They are now available for purchase via Apple's online shop, Apple BKC, Saket, e-commerce websites, and authorized retail stores.
