The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 are scheduled to make their debuts later this month at the Galaxy Unpacked event. Earlier reports stated that the Galaxy Z Fold 5 will be dust resistant. However, a reliable source has recently debunked this story, claiming that it would not have an official IP58 classification for dust and water protection. Last year's Galaxy Z Fold 4 has an IPX8 rating. However, it was not dust resistant.

According to Ice Universe (@UniverseIce), the Galaxy Z Fold 5 will not have a certified IP58 dust and water resistant grade. The most recent leak appears to contradict an earlier leak claiming IP58 dust and water resistance in both the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5.

Samsung's current generation foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4, are IPX8-rated. Some of the most recent smartphone models, such as the Motorola Edge 40 and the Asus Zenfone 10, are dust and water resistant to IP68 standards.

At the Galaxy Unpacked event in the final week of July, Samsung is likely to unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy Watch 6, and Galaxy Tab S9 series. The competition will be held in South Korea. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 is expected to cost $1,799 (about Rs. 1,47,000).

The Galaxy Z Fold 5's full specs leaked online last week. It's expected to run Android 13 with the One UI 5.1.1 overlay on top. It might have a 7.6-inch full-HD+ (1,812 x 2,176 pixels) Dynamic AMOLED inner display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and a 6.2-inch (904 x 2,316 pixels) Dynamic AMOLED outer display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The foldable is rumoured to be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC with 12GB of RAM. It might be released with storage capacities of 256GB and 512GB.

The Galaxy Z Fold 5 is believed to include three rear cameras: a 50-megapixel main camera, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 12-megapixel telephoto camera. A 10-megapixel front camera might be included for selfies and video conversations. In addition, the foldable might include a 4-megapixel under-display camera on the internal display. Samsung is reportedly expected to include a 4,400mAh battery in the device.
