Airtel Payments Bank, a FASTag issuer, has partnered with Park+ to provide FASTag-based smart parking at Varanasi's Lal Bahadur Shastri Airport.

The FASTag-based smart parking system enables automated cashless payments at airport parking, reducing friction and increasing efficiency.

The parking cost is debited via the valid FASTag connected with the car, reducing the time necessary to complete the payment.

According to a statement announcing the partnership between Airtel Payments Bank and Park+, local residents may now use the FASTag on their car to pay for a parking place at the Varanasi airport.

The two organisations are collaborating to improve the payment process by lowering the time spent in lines at major parking lots around the country, and the service will soon be available at other metropolitan airports as well.

According to Ganesh Ananthanarayanan, Chief Operating Officer of Airtel Payments Bank, the partnership's goal is to provide clients with a simple, secure, and seamless payment experience.

"This will help save a lot of time amid the growing crowds at airport parking lots and help smoothen the travel experience," Ananthanarayanan explained.

Park+, founded in 2019 by Amit Lakhotia, is a car-owner app that handles daily difficulties like as parking, FASTag management, automobile insurance, automatic vehicle access control systems, and EV charging stations.

Park+ is present in over 2,500 residential societies, as well as offices and malls, throughout over 25 Indian cities, including Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, and Mumbai, and is backed by Sequoia Capital and Matrix Partners.

"Park+ has made a concerted effort to collaborate with like-minded organisations in order to improve car ownership experiences for users." "As part of this strategy, we are excited to collaborate with Airtel Payments Banks and the Airport Authority of India to bring our FASTag enabled cashless parking management system to Varanasi," Park+ Founder and CEO Amit Lakhotia stated.
