The Chinese smartphone manufacturer Nubia is poised to unveil its next flagship, the Red Magic 8S Pro, next week. On Wednesday, June 28, the firm released official renderings of the gadget, revealing further details about the impending handset's design. The design of the phone is similar to that of the Red Magic 8 Pro series, which was released in China in December 2022. The wording on the rear of the handset appears to be different, as do the details around the cooling fan.
The Red Magic 8S Pro is visible in Black and Silver colorways in the renderings, which were shared on the Chinese microblogging website Weibo. Both choices appear to offer two variants: one with an RGB light circle for the fan and one without. The gaming-focused phone, like the Red Magic 8 Pro series, features a flat screen and sides.
On the right edge of the phone is an alert slider that also serves as a toggle for Game Mode, and on the top is a 3.5mm audio port. There are two specialised touch-sensitive buttons for gaming on the phone's right shoulder. The triple rear camera arrangement is vertically placed on the phone's backside, with an LED flash module above it.
The Red Magic 8S Pro will be available on July 5, beginning with China. While no further information about the gadget was provided alongside the mockups, Nubia revealed the RAM and CPU specifications of the incoming cellphone earlier this week. The phone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Leading Version octa-core SoC. The Red Magic 8S Pro will also include 24GB of RAM without virtual RAM, according to the firm.
According to FoneArena, the Red Magic 8S Pro will ship with 1TB of UFS 4.0 internal storage and a 6.8-inch full-HD+ (2,400 x 1,080 pixels) OLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz.
The Red Magic 8S Pro will also include a triple back camera unit, which will most likely be led by a 50-megapixel Samsung GN5 sensor, followed by an 8-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide lens and a 2-megapixel sensor with a macro camera lens. The front camera is believed to include a 16-megapixel sensor situated beneath the display.
