Vivo has released a new software update, Funtouch OS 14, that is based on the newly released Android 14. The business has also announced a list of devices that would receive the upgrade in the coming months, including Vivo and Iqoo models. The update includes several improvements and additional features over the previous version. The release of the Funtouch OS 14 Beta version begins in October and continues for many months until April 2024.
Funtouch OS 14 Features
Smooth Envision:
- Smooth Envision is a new feature in Funtouch OS 14 that claims to improve overall system performance by boosting speed and optimizing RAM utilization.
- This feature allows users to free up to 600MB of space on smartphones with 8GB or more RAM, enabling multitasking.
App Retainer:
- Meanwhile, the App Retainer is intended to ensure that whitelisted apps are always accessible.
Motion Blur Function:
- The latest OS update's Motion Blur function claims to provide more fluid visual transitions when launching and closing apps, even on devices with a 60Hz display rate.
- This upgrade also lets up to 12 tiny windows run in the background.
Side-Swipe Suspension:
- The Funtouch OS 14 also includes support for side-swipe suspension and a new non-interactive tiny small window mode for when users need to watch a certain program while playing it over others.
New Lock Screen:
- The update also includes a slew of new lock screen and always-on display styles, fonts, and themes.
Video Editing Features:
- This also has video editing features, allowing users to generate material without the usage of a third-party program.
Gallery Browsing Experience:
- It has also improved the gallery browsing experience by giving users more options such as changing the video playing speed and looping videos.
Smart Mirroring Function:
- The FuntouchOS 14 also has the Smart Mirroring function, which allows users to share their screen without displaying personal information in the notification bar.
Password Verification:
- In this new version, users may also opt to encrypt parts of their photographs and videos using password verification.
In India, the following Vivo phones will receive the Funtouch OS 14 update:
Vivo has verified the list of handsets that would receive the Funtouch OS 14 Beta version in India in a post on X, as well as the distribution date.
The Funtouch OS 14 Beta version will be available for the Vivo X90 and Vivo X90 Pro throughout the month of October.

Vivo sub-brand Iqoo revealed the devices that will receive the Funtouch OS 14 Beta version in a post on X, as well as the schedule for their deployment.
