Apple Introduces 24-Inch iMac using M3 Chip and Up to 10-Core GPU in India: Price and Specs

Following the M1-powered iMac debuted in 2021, Apple has finally updated the 24-inch iMac with the newly revealed M3 CPU. On Tuesday, Apple debuted the 24-inch iMac with M3 CPU at its Scary Fast event. It has the same design as the 2021 iMac with an M1 processor, which debuted three years ago. The new iMac M3 model has an 8-core CPU and up to a 10-core GPU. It is supposed to be up to twice as fast as the M1-based iMac while also being more efficient.


Price and availability of the 24-inch iMac M3 in India

The new 24-inch iMac with an M3 CPU begins at Rs. 1,34,900. This variant has an 8-core CPU, an 8-core GPU, 8GB of RAM, a 256GB SSD storage drive, and two Thunderbolt connections. Apple provides the Magic Keyboard and Magic Mouse with the 24-inch iMac. It is available in the following colors: green, pink, blue, and silver.


The 24-inch iMac with M3 version and 10-core GPU, on the other side, begins at Rs. 1,54,900 or Rs. 1,44,900 for education. It has the same setup as the previous model: an 8-core CPU, 8GB of RAM, a 256GB SSD, two Thunderbolt connections, Gigabit Ethernet, and two USB 3 ports. This package includes a Magic Keyboard with Touch ID and a Magic Mouse. It is available in the following colors: Blue, Green, Orange, Pink, Purple, Silver, and Yellow.


In terms of availability, the new 24-inch iMac with M3 is already available for pre-order on Apple's website. Beginning November 7, it will be available for purchase on the Apple website, Apple Store, and Apple authorized resellers.

 

Specs and features of the 24-inch iMac M3

While the new 24-inch iMac with M3 CPU appears to be comparable to the previous generation, it does provide certain speed enhancements. The M3 processor, which is based on the Apple iPhone 15 Pro's A17 Pro chip and has an 8-core CPU and up to 10-core GPU with support for up to 24GB unified RAM, is said to be twice as fast as the M1 chip.


Apple's new M3 processor is built using a 3nm technology, making it more efficient than its predecessor's M1 chip. for the graphics front, the processor provides hardware-accelerated mesh shading with ray tracing capability for the iMac. A 16-core Neural Engine facilitates quicker machine learning.


The all-in-one 24-inch iMac with M3 features a 24-inch Retina Display with 4.5K resolution and a peak brightness of 500 nits. It now has Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, up to four USB Type-C connectors, two Thunderbolt ports, and Gigabit Ethernet capability. There's also a 1080p FaceTime camera and a six-speaker system with Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos compatibility. It comes pre-installed with the new macOS Sonoma.
