Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra Could Feature a 48-Megapixel Zoom Camera

The successor of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, which was introduced in February of this year, is projected to be the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. The Galaxy S24 Ultra, like its predecessors, will most likely be joined by a base Galaxy S24 and a Galaxy S24+ model. Even though the lineup is not expected to be released until 2024, rumors and guesses regarding the phones have been making the rounds in recent weeks. A recent leak revealed a major camera specification for the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

According to a Gizmochina article, user @hyacokr_itnyang purportedly indicated in a post from a now-deleted X profile that the Galaxy S24 Ultra might include a 48-megapixel camera with 5x magnification. According to the leak, the South Korean electronics giant had originally planned to include a 50-megapixel sensor with 10x zoom, but dropped the proposal due to picture output quality issues.

According to previous reports, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra would most likely use a 200-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL HP2SX sensor. The ISOCELL HP2 sensor utilized in the Galaxy S23 Ultra is likely to be updated. The alleged sensor contains 200 million pixels in a 1/1.3 optical format and 0.6-micron pixels (m).

The Galaxy S24 Ultra, which is likely to operate on Android 14-based One UI 6, is rumored to include a 6.8-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED LTPO display and titanium frames rather than aluminum bodies like prior generations. The device will also include a 5,000mAh battery. The device is likely to be powered by either an Exynos 2400 SoC from Samsung or Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, neither of which has been revealed.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra features a 6.8-inch Edge QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, and a 5,000mAh battery with support for 45W wired and 15W wireless fast charging. In addition, the phone boasts a 200-megapixel primary wide sensor, a 12-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide lens, two 10-megapixel sensors with telephoto lenses at the rear, and a 12-megapixel sensor in front.
