As Jio celebrates its seventh birthday, the telecom operator has added some new features to a handful of its pricing options. Users who recharge on the Rs. 299 and Rs. 749 Jio plans will receive an extra data allowance of 7GB and 14GB, respectively, as a special perk.
For Rs. 2,999, customers will receive an additional 21GB of data, as well as Rs. 200 off AJIO shopping, 20% off Netmeds (up to Rs. 800), Rs. 100 off Swiggy, and 10% off Reliance Digital, among other deals.
The only caveat is that the recharge deal is only valid from September 5 through September 30.
Extra rewards will be applied to the qualifying customer's 'MyJio' account immediately after they are recharged. Extra data will be credited as a data voucher in the 'MyJio' app, which customers must redeem.
During the Annual General Meeting on August 28, Reliance Industries Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani stated that the per-user per month data consumption on Jio's network is 25GB.
On Jio 5G services, he stated that it is already accessible in 96 percent of census towns and is on schedule to cover the whole country by December 2023, as planned. Notably, telecom service providers in India began offering high-speed 5G services in October 2022.
Jio's total client base has already surpassed the 45 crore mark.
