At IFA 2023, Honor Magic V2 makes its global debut as the world's slimmest foldable

Honor Magic V2 had its global premiere on September 1 at IFA 2023 in Berlin, accompanying Honor V Purse. The smartphone was earlier announced for release in China in July 2023. Honor's newest foldable weighs only 231g. It is equipped with a 5,000mAH battery and is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. The smartphone's debut date and price have yet to be disclosed by the manufacturer. Meanwhile, the Honor V Purse features an outward folding mechanism that allows it to be carried like a handbag. 


The Honor Magic V2 will not be available in Europe until the firm announces a launch date. However, according to Android Authority, the release date has been set for the first quarter of 2024. According to the listing, the foldable smartphone will be available in certain areas such as Germany, Italy, Spain, Ireland, and the United Kingdom. It is also possible that it may be released in a few Latin American markets.


The smartphone's price for the worldwide market has yet to be published. To remember, the base 16GB RAM + 256GB storage variant was priced at CNY 8,999 (approximately Rs. 1,03,000), while the 16GB RAM + 512GB storage model was priced at CNY 9,999 (about Rs. 1,14,500). The high-end edition with 16GB RAM and 1TB storage cost CNY 11,999 (about Rs. 1,37,400).


The Honor Magic V2 for worldwide markets will have a 6.43-inch exterior display with a resolution of 2,3761,060 pixels and a 7.92-inch inner display with a resolution of 2,3442,156 pixels, comparable to its Chinese model. Both OLED display panels have a refresh rate of 120Hz. The foldable is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, 16GB of RAM, and up to 1TB of internal storage. It comes pre-installed with Android 13-based MagicOS 7.2.


It has a triple rear camera unit placed in a rectangular module for optics. A 50-megapixel main sensor, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 20-megapixel telephoto lens are all part of the package. Meanwhile, the Honor Magic V2's interior and exterior displays both include a 16-megapixel selfie camera.   


The foldable is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with 66W Honor SuperCharge charging capabilities. Honor's Magic V2 also supports 5G, 4G, Wi-Fi 802.11ax, Bluetooth 5.3 LE, GPS, NFC, and USB 3.1 Type-C connection.
