Hands-on Video of Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 Dummy Unit Leaked Online; Reveals Hinge Gap

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 are set to be announced at the Galaxy Unpacked event on July 26 and are presently available for pre-order in India. Multiple leaks in recent months have revealed a lot about the next-generation foldable phones, and most recently, a hands-on video of the Galaxy Z Flip 5 fake devices has appeared online. The video teases the future flip phone's design. It looks to feature a hinge gap and a folder-shaped exterior display. The Galaxy Z Flip 5 has a fingerprint sensor, much like the previous generation.

Leakspinner (via SlashLeaks) provided a hands-on video and photographs of the Galaxy Z Flip 5 fake devices. They propose a design language comparable to the Galaxy Z Flip 4 from last year. It is seen, however, with a significantly bigger folder-shaped cover display and two camera modules. The Galaxy Z Flip 5 was generally believed to include a water drop hinge mechanism to remove the gap between the two parts while folding. The video, on the other hand, shows a noticeable gap when the clamshell foldable is folded.

On the right edge of the Galaxy Z Flip 5, the volume rocker and power button with integrated fingerprint reader are visible. The SIM card tray looks to be on the left, with a USB Type-C connector on the bottom. These design aspects appear to be consistent with previous disclosures. However, these leaked photographs should be taken with a grain of salt.

The Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event is slated for July 26 at 4:30pm IST. The event will be broadcast live on the company's website and YouTube channel. In India, Samsung is already accepting pre-orders for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5.

Specs for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 (to be anticipated)

The entire specs of the Galaxy Z Flip 5 were just leaked online. It's said to run Android 13 with One UI 5.1.1 and have a 6.7-inch full-HD+ (1,080, 2,640 pixel) Dynamic AMOLED primary display with a variable refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The outside screen is expected to be 3.4-inch 748 × 720 with an adjustable refresh rate of 1Hz to 120Hz. It might be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC with 8GB of RAM.

The Galaxy Z Flip 5 is claimed to have storage capacities of 265GB and 512GB. It will most likely include a 12-megapixel primary camera as well as a 12-megapixel ultra-wide shooter. It is also likely to include a 10-megapixel selfie camera. The battery on the Galaxy Z Flip 5 might be 3,700mAh.
