NBA 2K24 will support cross-play between the PS5 and Xbox Series S/X editions. This is the first time in the franchise's 25-year history that the functionality, which allows players on various platforms to play with one another, has been added to the acclaimed basketball game. The PC edition, on the other hand, will not only be missing that feature, but will also lack ProPlay, the new animation technology that "directly translates NBA footage into NBA 2K24 gameplay." The cover will feature Hall of Famer Kobe Bryant, who unfortunately died in 2020, as well as a 'Mamba Moments' option that allows you to relive some of his most memorable moments in-game. NBA 2K24 will be available on all major platforms on September 8th.

"Embody one of basketball's greatest players of all time in Mamba Moments mode, recreating several of Kobe Bryant's most dominant and captivating performances," according to the website. The mode will follow the iconic shooting guard's 20-year NBA career while playing for the Los Angeles Lakers, similar to the 'Jordan Challenge' in NBA 2K23. Meanwhile, the ProPlay function is set to transfer real-world NBA video into the game engine, with developer Visual Concepts promising more information in the near future.

While it's designed to demonstrate the generational jump in authentic-looking gaming, it's odd to see PC left out considering the platform clearly supports the ProPlay functionality. Since the release of the new-generation PS5 and Xbox Series S/X consoles, PC users have received last-gen versions of the game. Until last year, EA Sports' NFL Madden was in the same position, but this year, the PC community is getting its full complement of features. In addition to ProPlay, NBA 2K24 PC gamers will only be able to play the Neighbourhood version of its My Career option, with no cross-play capabilities.

Several old game modes return, including MyTeam, NBA 2K's version of Ultimate squad, in which you build your ideal squad through pack opens and online player card transfers and participate in various contests. Alternatively, you may visit MyNBA to don the manager's hat and guide a team to success in offline-based game types. Victor Wembanyama is about to make his Summer League debut with the San Antonio Spurs, and to capitalise on the buzz, 2K is offering a promotion in which you can add the seven-foot-tall prodigy to your MyTeam squad. It will be offered to pre-orderers of NBA 2K24's 25th Anniversary Edition between July 7 and July 14. It's a 90-rated card that comes with a Wembanyama shirt and a Ruby Devin Booker card for MyPlayer (character creation).

NBA 2K24 will be available in three versions, beginning with the basic Kobe Bryant Edition for Rs. 3,999/ $59.99 on PC and Rs. 4,399/ $59.99 on PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. The PS5 and Xbox Series S/X models, on the other hand, cost Rs. 4,999/ $69.99.

Following that comes the Black Mamba Edition, which includes some virtual cash as well as a slew of digital items such as a Kobe Bryant Saphire card and his clothing for My Player. This costs Rs. 5,599 (PC) and Rs. 7,499/ $99.99 on the other platforms indicated. Finally, the 25th Anniversary Edition (available exclusively through September 10) includes everything from the Black Mamba Edition – in-game souvenirs and boosts — as well as a 12-month NBA League Pass membership. The PC version costs Rs. 8,500, while the PlayStation and Xbox editions cost Rs. 9,800/ $150.

NBA 2K24 will be available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, and Nintendo Switch on September 8.
