The Nokia G42 5G will be available in India starting next week. While we wait for the official launch, the HMD Global licensee hinted the cost of its new G series smartphone on Thursday (September 7th) via X (previously known as Twitter). In addition, Nokia has offered a new color option for the Nokia G42 5G in regions other than India. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 480+ SoC and has three back cameras, including a 50-megapixel main sensor. The Nokia G42 5G will be available in India through Amazon India.
In its most recent tweet, Nokia's official India X handle asked fans to predict the pricing of the Nokia G42 5G. The article includes two pricing options: Rs. 16,xxx and Rs. 18,xxx, implying that the handset would cost less than Rs. 18,999. The two pricing points might also indicate two memory types.
The Nokia G42 5G is available in Europe for EUR 199 (about Rs. 20,800) for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage configuration.

Separately, the Nokia G42 5G now comes in a new So Pink color choice in territories other than India. The new color choice will join the Grey and So Purple colors that have been offered in certain worldwide countries since the phone's initial release in June. Nokia has not announced whether or not the new color would be available in India.
The Nokia G42 5G will be available exclusively through Amazon in India on September 11.
Specs for the Nokia G42 5G
The Nokia G42 5G runs Android 13, and it will receive two years of Android OS upgrades as well as monthly security updates for the following three years. The phone has a 6.56-inch HD+ (720 x 1,612 pixel) LCD display with a refresh rate of 90Hz. As previously stated, it is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 480+ SoC with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The 5G device also includes up to 5GB of virtual RAM.
It sports three back cameras, one with a 50-megapixel main sensor and two with 2-megapixel sensors. It also has an 8-megapixel selfie sensor. A 5,000mAh battery powers the Nokia G42 5G, which also supports 20W wired fast charging.
