On Friday, Huawei secretly released the Mate X5. The business has not disclosed the CPU specifications, but the phone boasts a 7.85-inch LTPO OLED inner display and a 6.4-inch OLED LTPO exterior screen. The phone is available in five different colors and two different storage capacities. The handset's price is likewise unknown at this time. It succeeds the Huawei Mate X3, which debuted in China in March with an octa-core Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC.

The phone is available in Feather Sand White, Feather Sand Black, Feather Sand Gold, Aoyama Dai (Green), and Phantom Purple (translated from Chinese). Both the 12GB + 512GB and 16GB + 512GB models are available for pre-order with a CNY 1,000 (about Rs. 11,300) deposit. The Huawei Mate X5 Collector's Edition is also available in 16GB + 512GB and 16GB + 1TB storage configurations.

The Huawei Mate X5 has an inner panel with a 7.85-inch LTPO OLED resolution of 2496 x 2224 pixels, a touch sampling rate of 240Hz, and an aspect ratio of 8:7.1. The display on the cover is a 6.4-inch OLED LTPO screen with a resolution of 2504 x 1080 pixels, a touch sampling rate of up to 300Hz, an aspect ratio of 20.9:9, and Kunlun glass protection.

Huawei's latest book-style foldable has up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of internal storage. The Huawei Mate X5, like the previously released Huawei Mate 60 and Mate 60 Pro variants, comes with Harmony OS 4.0.

The Huawei Mate X5 has a triple rear camera arrangement that combines a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 13-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide lens, and a 12-megapixel sensor with a periscope telephoto lens that supports optical image stabilisation (OIS). The front-facing camera has an 8-megapixel sensor.

The Huawei Mate X5 has a 5,060mAh battery that supports 66W wired and 50W wireless rapid charging. The phone, which supports twin nano SIM cards, has a fingerprint sensor on the side for further protection. It also has Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C connection, and is splash-resistant to IPX8 standards. 

The Huawei Mate X5 weighs 245 grams and measures 156.9mm x 72.4mm x 11.08mm when folded and 156.9mm x 141.5mm x 5.3mm when unfolded.
