According to reports, Apple Watch Ultra featuring Micro-LED Display will be released in 2026

The Apple Watch Ultra 2nd generation is rumoured to be in the works and will likely supersede the first Apple Watch Ultra, which was launched in September 2022. Previous sources stated that the watch will be available with a microLED display by the end of 2024 or early 2025. However, according to a fresh claim, the next Watch Ultra will not be released until 2026. The corporation had previously been said to be developing microLEDs for all of its gadgets, including the iPhone, iPad, and Mac. It has been speculated that the second generation Apple Watch Ultra will be the first in its sector to include a microLED display.

According to The Elec, a South Korean website, the second iteration of the Apple Watch Ultra, or the Apple Watch Ultra 2, will be released later than previously anticipated, citing a TrendForce report. According to the analysis, the corporation would most likely introduce the smart wearable in 2026.

This contradicts previous predictions and leaks that stated the Apple Watch Ultra 2 will be released in late 2024 or early 2025. According to reports, the Apple Watch Ultra 2 will have a similar, upgraded display to Apple's other products, which are scheduled to feature microLED screens starting in 2024.

MicroLEDs, or rather their components, are a hundred times smaller than standard LEDs, making assembly time-consuming and logistically more difficult. As a result, the production process naturally takes a longer than typical period of time. 

Another reason is that, while Samsung Display currently leads the market in terms of microLED technology, Apple has recently made an effort to diversify its supplier base in order to reduce reliance on a single firm, and is thus making an effort to assist multiple other suppliers in setting up a system for microLED production.

According to the story, Apple will debut the microLED display on the high-end Apple Watch Ultra 2 before expanding the technology to other devices.

The Apple Watch Ultra, which was released in 2022, was priced at Rs. 89,900 in India and is still available at that price. The Alpine, Ocean, and Trail band colours and designs are available with the smartwatch.
