Google revealed a new 'Help Me Write' tool, along with other artificial intelligence (AI)-based improvements, during its annual Google I/O 2023 event. The AI-powered writing improvement tool will be available in Gmail and Google Docs, and the company previously stated that the function will be available to Google Workspace users who joined to test it. It is currently accessible for iOS and Android to testers who have signed up for the Workspace Labs programme.
According to 9to5Google, the search giant's AI-powered Help Me Write feature on Gmail for Android and iOS has begun rolling out to Workspace Labs testers. The Help Me Write function in Gmail was previously exclusively available to desktop users as part of Workspace Labs. The tool will aid in email writing by creating a draught depending on the user's instructions.
Google's help website also explains how to utilise the new AI-enabled Help Me Write tool in Gmail to create an email. Users on iOS and Android may pick the Help Me Write option situated in the bottom right side of the screen by tapping the compose button. Enter something like "A thank you letter for my job interview" or "A Job Application." After that, the AI will construct a message that users may modify or amend before pressing the send button.
Users may also provide input on the produced text or create a new version of the content by simply pressing "Recreate." The Help Me Write function will also be accessible in Google Docs, but Google has yet to give an exact deployment schedule.
Google I/O 2023 also saw the announcement of AI-powered improvements for Google Photos. A new Magic Editor tool for Google Photos, which is believed to replace missing features in photographs when objects are partially visible, was announced at I/O 2023 and will be available in the following months. It will also allow users to reposition individuals in images after they have been recorded. According to the business, the Magic Editor for Google Photos will be available later in 2023.
